A Traditional Yorkshire Pub
Traditionally a late 18th century inn, The Wellington Heifer is the last remaining pub in the small village of Ainderby Steeple, 2 miles west of the busy market town of Northallerton. Situated on the A684, Bedale to Northallerton road, it commands a prime location overlooking the village church, making it easy to find from both Northallerton and Bedale, and within striking distance of Thirsk, Catterick, Richmond and Darlington.
Back in Private Ownership and Fully Refurbished
The Pub was reopened by Rob Gilpin and his team in August 2012 having been closed for 12 months. Following several hard years under the management of a large pub company, it is now back in private ownership. Having received a full refurbishment, The Wellington Heifer is on track to return to former glories and is once again trading as a quality local pub.
Rob has expanded his business from the Hare and Hounds at Burton Leonard, where he has been successfully trading for the last 7 years, and which was nominated as Yorkshire Life traditional pub of the year 2011. Now moved to Ainderby Steeple, he is looking to bring the same high standards of quality, service and value to The Wellington Heifer.
Home Cooked Food, Good Yorkshire Beer, Open Log Fires...
Focused on providing high quality, home cooked local produce, with a warm friendly welcome, all washed down with some good Yorkshire Beer, sitting in front of open fires - just the way a traditional Yorkshire pub used to be, and is now again.
